Iron Lamp-post

The Iron Lamp-post is a crafted lighting item that can be held or placed to provide light. It is one of the strongest craftable light sources in the game, and unlike braziers it is always on rather than toggleable. The lamp-post can be placed indoors or outdoors, and it can even be used in places such as the Mines.

When placed, the Iron Lamp-post casts light in a radius of about 7 tiles, with most of the illumination concentrated in the nearest few tiles. It is therefore useful for lighting paths, work areas, barns, sheds, and other dark spaces where a stronger and steadier light source is wanted. Because it provides more light than any other craftable lighting item, it is a good choice when maximizing visibility matters more than decoration.
