Amphibian Fossil

The Amphibian Fossil is an artifact that can be found by digging up artifact spots in Cindersap Forest and the Mountains, by opening Fishing Treasure Chests, and from Bone Nodes on the Ginger Island Dig Site. Like other artifacts, donating it contributes to the Museum’s total donation count.

It has a few useful secondary uses beyond donation. In the Bone Mill, the Amphibian Fossil can be converted into one of several farming outputs: Quality Fertilizer, Speed-Gro, Deluxe Speed-Gro, or Tree Fertilizer. It can also be used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the Excavator Shirt.

The Amphibian Fossil is not used in any bundles and is not used in any recipes.

It is also relevant to the Special Orders quest “Fragments of the past,” where Gunther may request 100 bone items in any combination while the quest is active. The player has 7 days to complete the order, and completing it grants the Bone Mill recipe. Because the quest accepts any bone items, the Amphibian Fossil can contribute to the total if it is available during the quest period.
