Overview

The Anvil is a machine used to re-forge trinkets. To use it, the player must interact with it while holding a re-forgeable trinket. Each re-roll consumes 3 Iridium Bars from the player’s inventory and takes time to process.

Anvil results change the properties of several trinkets. In some cases it alters cosmetic appearance, while in others it changes the trinket’s functional stats. The output is randomly determined each time a trinket is re-rolled, so re-forging the same trinket can produce different results.

Trinkets affected by the Anvil include:

  • Fairy Box: changes the fairy companion’s level, from 1 to 5. Higher levels change how often it heals and how much health it restores. The fairy’s visual style is not tied to its level and cannot be changed.
  • Frog Egg: changes the frog companion’s color. This is cosmetic only and does not affect behavior.
  • Golden Spur: changes the duration of the speed boost, from 5 to 10 seconds. The duration is determined to the second, and each of the six possible values is equally likely.
  • Ice Rod: changes both projectile frequency and freeze duration independently. The time between shots ranges from 3 to 5 seconds, and the freeze duration ranges from 2 to 4 seconds. These values are determined to the millisecond, with all possible values equally likely. There is also a 5% chance for the Ice Rod to become Perfect, changing its name to Perfect Ice Rod; this version fires every 3 seconds and freezes for 4 seconds.
  • Magic Quiver: changes the quiver’s type. There are four possible types: regular, Perfect, Rapid, and Heavy. The type determines the possible cooldown, minimum damage, and maximum damage values. Cooldown is determined to the tenth of a second for regular and Heavy quivers, and to the hundredth of a second for Rapid quivers. Damage is always determined to the whole number. Cooldown and damage are rolled independently, and re-forging can produce the same type with different stats.
  • Parrot Egg: changes the parrot companion’s level, from 1 to 4. This level determines the chance for enemies to drop gold coins worth 5g each, and each coin dropped can itself trigger another coin drop. When re-forged, the maximum possible level is limited by the player’s total earnings; once that threshold has been passed, each available level is equally likely.

Because the Anvil’s output is randomized every time a trinket is re-rolled, players may restart the day to try again for better stats. This can be especially useful when Iridium Bars are scarce.
