Workbench

The Workbench allows players to craft items using ingredients stored in adjacent chests or Big Chests. It can be purchased from the Carpenter's Shop.

The Workbench draws crafting materials only from standard adjacent chests or Big Chests, not from Junimo Chests. It can access chests placed on any of the eight tiles surrounding it, including diagonals, but at least one tile must be left empty so the player can still reach and use the Workbench directly.

When crafting, the Workbench searches nearby chests in a fixed order based on their position relative to the Workbench:

• southwest
• south
• southeast
• west
• east
• northwest
• north
• northeast

If a recipe requires multiple ingredients, those ingredients can be taken from different chests in the same craft. The Workbench can also pull multiple copies of the same item from several chests if needed. As long as the required materials are available across the searchable chests, the player can continue crafting the same item repeatedly without manually moving supplies into a single container.

Because of this, the Workbench is especially useful for organized workshop setups, letting players keep raw materials in surrounding storage and craft directly from their stockpile. Its usefulness depends on chest placement, so arranging the most commonly used ingredients in the nearby chests makes it faster and easier to use.
