Overview

Centrifuge is a powered water building introduced in Update 5. It processes liquids into Materials used elsewhere in the colony. The building is part of the colony’s industry chain that converts extractable liquids into refined components relied upon by Bots and other production facilities.

Centrifuge requires a directed supply of liquid inputs to operate. Badwater Pumps are required earlier in the chain to produce the input liquids the Centrifuge consumes. Tanks placed near the Centrifuge for both input and output liquids increase the building’s effective throughput by ensuring a steady supply and preventing interruptions. The Centrifuge counts as a powered facility and therefore depends on the colony’s power network to function.

Beavers assigned to work in Centrifuges face a risk of injury while operating the machine. Worker injury is an operational factor to consider when assigning workforce and planning healthcare. A single Centrifuge is usually sufficient for a colony’s needs until production scales up to include Bots. Bot condition is improved by Materials produced from Extract processed through the Centrifuge, making the building an important component for maintaining Bot performance once Bots are introduced.
