A throwable shield that protects from harm and allows projectiles to pass through one side of it.

Overview

Drop Shield is a throwable defensive item that creates a protective barrier when deployed. It blocks incoming damage and grants cover to whoever stands behind it. When thrown, the Drop Shield becomes a temporary shield object that intercepts hazards directed at the holder or allies positioned behind the shield.

The Drop Shield functions as a one-sided barrier: projectiles and attacks are blocked from the shielded side while some attacks can pass through or be permitted on the opposite face, so its orientation matters when you deploy it. Multiple language descriptions also note that its protection is limited in duration — the shield provides defense for a short time after being thrown rather than remaining indefinitely.

  • The item is used by throwing it into place; it then acts as a physical shield that absorbs or negates incoming damage.
  • Position and facing are important because the shield allows certain projectiles to pass from one side; deploy it so the protected side faces the expected source of damage.
  • The protective effect is temporary; expect the barrier to last only for a short interval after deployment.
  • Use the Drop Shield to create instant cover during repositioning, to block line-of-fire while reviving or healing, or to shield choke points briefly.
  • Because the shield is throwable, it can be placed quickly at range to protect teammates who are out of position or to intercept incoming projectiles along a flight path.

Do not assume permanent immunity or indefinite use: the Drop Shield is a short-duration, throwable defense meant to provide tactical cover and control of space rather than sustained protection.
