Night Helmet

A helmet bearing the Sigil of the Night.
Overview
Night Helmet is an equippable helmet bearing the Sigil of the Night. It appears as a rare thematic piece tied to the Night Realm and functions both as a collectible crafting component and as a requirement for specific repairs and trades in the game world.
The item is required to craft

Night Helmet acquisition and interactions:
- Primary drop source: Night Helmet (or
Night Essence instances that function as Night Helmet components) are dropped by the
Reaper enemy when the Reaper is exposed to X-Rays or lasers. This drop effect has an internal cooldown of approximately 2.5 minutes per Reaper.
- Cooldown bypass: The 2.5-minute cooldown can be bypassed by reloading the Security Sector area. Practical reload methods include entering and exiting the night realm through portals and then returning to the Reaper spawn area.
- Farming rate: With efficient pathing and appropriate mobility equipment, players can obtain roughly one Night Helmet (or one Night Essence equivalent) every 30 seconds by cycling spawns and reloads.
- Fixed spawns and alternative sources: There are four Night Helmet finds available in
The Night Realm via world spawns. Night Helmet components can also drop from butchering
Inkfish and can be acquired through fishing within The Night Realm.
- Trading: Individual Night Helmet components can be traded with Warren Bunning to obtain a
Magnetic Alloy. Night Helmet-derived Nyxshade Seed is used to trade with Warren for a GATE Security Key.
Practical usage notes and strategy:
- Prioritize reading the corrupted email in the Night Realm early to unlock the crafting recipe; without that action, crafting Night Helmet is not available.
- When farming via the Reaper method, plan routes that minimize downtime between reloads and include any available mobility upgrades to maintain the ~30-second acquisition cadence.
- If you need the item for the Cascade Laboratories portal repair, be prepared to devote Night Realm time to collect multiple units or to supplement drops with fishing and butchering sources.
- Use trades smartly: converting surplus Night Helmet components into Magnetic Alloy via Warren Bunning can be a reliable way to obtain alloys if you do not currently need the item for portal activation or Nyxshade Seed crafting.
