Cargo depot (4)
Overview
Cargo Depot (4) is a late-tier cargo handling building used to load and unload goods at the shoreline. Like other Cargo Depot variants, it needs careful placement because its footprint and docking behavior depend on the shape of the coast, and it is typically built to support large-scale harbor logistics rather than ad hoc transport.
Placement on uneven shorelines can be awkward. A practical way to make construction easier is to dump excess material to reshape the coast into a straighter, more level edge before placing the depot. This is especially helpful when expanding a transport network along a rough shoreline, since the building wants a clean alignment to function efficiently.
When Cargo Depot (4) structures are placed along a parallel shoreline, leave at least 50 tiles of space between the structural parts of the depots to prevent blockage. This spacing matters when planning multiple depots in sequence, since insufficient clearance can interfere with their usable area and reduce the effectiveness of the dock line.
