Loose module (S)
Overview
Loose module (S) is a small Cargo Dock module used to load outpost resources onto Cargo Ships. After construction, its cargo type must be selected in the module’s UI window. Once the relevant outposts have been discovered and repaired, it can be assigned to

The module is part of the Cargo Dock logistics chain, so its practical value depends on both the extraction rate of the outpost and the ship’s unloading behavior. A Cargo ship waits until it is fully unloaded before departing again, which means mixed cargo setups can create bottlenecks if one resource is emptied much more slowly than the others. For that reason, Cargo Dock modules that share a dock are often built in identical pairs, especially when the goal is to keep ship turnaround predictable and avoid reduced throughput on the more heavily used cargo type.
Because cargo selection can be mixed and matched between adjacent modules, Loose module (S) offers flexibility, but that flexibility can also reduce efficiency if used carelessly. If a dock serves multiple resource types with uneven demand, the ship may sit idle for extended periods while waiting for the slowest cargo category to be cleared. Keeping modules aligned by cargo type is usually the safer choice when steady transport matters more than versatility.
Its throughput is high enough that a single small Cargo Dock module can handle the output of some outposts continuously, depending on shift count and resource. With an averaged download speed of 32.1 units per 60 seconds, the module can outperform or closely match the following extraction rates:
- Sulfur Mine at 9 units per 60 seconds per shift:
- 1 module can continuously outpace a 1-shift outpost at 28.0% duty cycle
- 1 module can continuously outpace a 2-shift outpost at 56.1% duty cycle
- 1 module can continuously outpace a 3-shift outpost at 84.1% duty cycle
- Quartz Mine at 15 units per 60 seconds per shift:
- 1 module can continuously outpace a 1-shift outpost at 46.7% duty cycle
- 1 module can continuously outpace a 2-shift outpost at 93.5% duty cycle
- 2 modules can continuously outpace a 3-shift outpost at 70.2% duty cycle
- Uranium Mine at 18 units per 60 seconds per shift:
- 1 module can continuously outpace a 1-shift outpost at 56.1% duty cycle
- 2 modules can continuously outpace a 2-shift outpost at 56.1% duty cycle
- 2 modules can continuously outpace a 3-shift outpost at 84.1% duty cycle
In practice, Loose module (S) is most effective when matched to the expected output of the connected outpost and when grouped with similar modules to keep Cargo Ship departures efficient.
