Trap Bobber

The Trap Bobber is a tackle used with fishing rods. When attached, it makes the fishing progress bar decrease 33% slower whenever the fish is not inside the bar, making it easier to keep control during difficult catches and reducing the fish’s ability to escape. With an Advanced Iridium Rod using two Trap Bobbers, this effect increases to 50%.

It becomes available after reaching Fishing level 6. At that point, it can be crafted or purchased from Willy’s Fish Shop, and it can also randomly appear in the Traveling Cart. One Trap Bobber is also awarded as the copper-tier prize on Winter 13 during SquidFest.

Because it is a tackle rather than a bait, the Trap Bobber is equipped in the tackle slot of compatible fishing rods and is consumed only through use rather than by casting. Its main value is for fish that move unpredictably or that require longer, steadier control, since the slower bar decay gives more time to recover position between fish movements.

• The crafting recipe is profitable, and it yields additional profit with the Blacksmith profession.
