Overview

The Wild Plum is a forageable fruit found throughout Stardew Valley in Fall. It can also be obtained from Fall Seeds, found randomly in the Farm Cave if the fruit bat option is chosen, and occasionally appears in Garbage Cans during Fall. Like other seasonal forage, it is most common while its season is active, but these alternate sources make it available outside normal foraging as well.

Wild Plums have a few practical uses beyond being sold or saved for quests and bundles. They are used in tailoring: placing one in the spool of the Sewing Machine creates the dyeable Farmer Pants, and they can also be used as a purple dye ingredient at the dye pots in Emily and Haley's house at 2 Willow Lane. In Fall, a Wild Plum may also be randomly requested on the Help Wanted board outside Stone's General Store, rewarding gold and Friendship points when completed.

  • Wild Plums are a forage item, so they benefit from normal Fall exploration and foraging routes.
  • They can be obtained from Fall Seeds, making them one of the forage foods that can be grown rather than only gathered.
  • Fruit bats in the Farm Cave can produce them at any time of year, adding a steady off-season source.
  • Because they can appear in Garbage Cans during Fall, checking trash cans can occasionally provide one without any farming or gathering.
  • Their tailoring use makes them worth keeping even after other seasonal forage items are no longer needed.
