Overview

Bush Devil is a hostile nocturnal animal found in Pine Forest bone dens and in the Deep Mine. It is one of the stronger predators in Dinkum and is naturally aggressive, making it a common danger in both surface dens and underground areas.

Its attacks consist of a bite and a forward-fired fireball, and any target hit by the fireball is set on fire. Bush Devils are immune to fire damage from one another. They are also made hostile by wearing the Bush Devil Hood, and this applies even on Peaceful Wish, which also affects Crocos and Glowing Crocos.

When hunting Bush Devils, spears are generally the most versatile choice, but a Flaming Bat can be more effective in the Deep Mine because it provides light as well as damage. If a Bush Devil is trapped underground, it must be brought back up to the island before it can be sent off.

Bush Devils can be attracted with a Bush Devil Box from Ted Selly’s Berley Box system. When placed, the box releases coloured smoke and can spawn up to three matching animals nearby for a limited time. If spawned animals are lost to hunting, predation, or trapping while the box is active, replacements will appear until it deactivates.

Upon death, Bush Devils drop Raw Meat and Bone, with a rare chance to drop a Flame Sac. In the wild, they are mainly threatened by other strong predators such as Crocos on the surface and Glowing Crocos in the mines. Destroying all of the tall rocks that form a bone den removes that spawn point.
