Overview
Oct is a heavy flying support unit that appears as a tier-5 air unit. It provides a large regenerating Force Field that protects nearby allies and can carry most ground units and many blocks in its payload bay. The unit pairs durable survivability with utility: its very large health and high armor let it act as a frontline tanker, while its high build speed and item/payload capacity make it useful for on-the-spot construction, supply runs, and airdropping units or explosives.
Oct's Force Field has a distinct octagonal shape and regenerates over time; the field can absorb damage that would otherwise hit the
Oct and nearby allies. The Force Field does not get repaired by external healing sources, so an
Oct without its field is significantly more vulnerable and can be countered by weapons that bypass or outdamage the shield.
Oct shares the highest raw health among tier-5 units (tied with
Reign) and sits near the top for armor and movement speed among its peers.
Oct is ideal for defensive roles: its bulk and force field allow it to tank sustained attacks while nearby damaged allies are protected. Placing Repair Turrets or Velas nearby sustains an
Oct effectively; Repair Turrets in particular allow an
Oct to remain on the field almost indefinitely because the
Oct itself heals while the field regenerates independently.
Oct excels at frontline rebuilding and logistics thanks to the fastest build speed of all units. It can rapidly reconstruct turrets and walls while shielding builders from incoming fire.- The high payload capacity allows
Oct to transport multiple Vaults, reactors, or elite units for remote base supply, forward drops, or kamikaze-style attacks. It is commonly used offensively to airdrop units like
Reign or
Toxopid into enemy bases, or to hover over enemy Cores while carrying
Blast Compound for a large explosion.
Oct is vulnerable to attacks that bypass the Force Field (for example,
Foreshadow shots) and to weapons or debuff combinations that quickly deplete the shield and then hit the unit directly. Ammo with multiple-hit or spark effects (such as
Surge Alloy rounds) or units that apply
Sapped to air units are effective counters.
Oct cannot carry certain specialized blocks and units; among the notable exceptions are processors, memory blocks, Cores,
Radar, several high-tier units (Antumbra,
Eclipse,
Omura,
Navanax,
Conquer,
Disrupt), advanced reconstructors, and large logic displays.- Historically,
Oct has seen several balance and behavior changes: it was given a HugAI to follow nearby units, its item capacity and speed were adjusted across builds, its command limit was removed, and its Force Field was changed from a hexagonal to an octagonal shape.
Use
Oct when you need a durable mobile shield, rapid frontline rebuilding, or a heavy transporter for high-value payloads. Pair it with repair sources and units that can protect its shield from being removed, and avoid letting it operate without its Force Field active.
