Overview
Reign is a high-tier ground assault unit that fires heavy, piercing projectiles to shred buildings and large targets. It was introduced in early major updates under the name Eradicator and later renamed
Reign.
Reign specializes in long-range, single-target damage with very high health and armor, making it ideal for breaking through fortified bases and core defenses during attacks. Its role complements other heavy units like
Corvus by creating breaches in
Plastanium and other high-tier wall formations that most defenses cannot stop reliably.
Reign's primary armament fires two volleys at a rate of 3.33 shots/sec (2x firing pattern). Each primary bullet deals 80 damage, has an area damage component of 18 (approximate radius 1.6 tiles), and a high pierce value (10). Each shot also fragments into three secondary bullets on impact; each fragment deals 20 damage, has 15 area damage with a smaller radius (~1.2 tiles), and 3 pierce. These piercing properties let
Reign penetrate thick walls and multiple layers of defenses that would normally absorb low-damage fire.
Reign also possesses enormous health (raised across versions up to 24000) and very high armor, which make it resilient to most conventional defenses.
Reign performs best as an offensive breaker rather than as a mobile skirmisher. It excels at:
- Destroying Cores and dense wall formations thanks to its piercing, high raw damage, and area fragments.
- Working in tandem with other heavy units like
Corvus to exploit breaches and clear interior infrastructure. - Being used defensively in limited scenarios where a large footprint and sustained, ammunition-free damage are acceptable.
Weaknesses and practical counters:
Reign is slow and has poor turning speed, giving defenders time to prepare area denial or reposition the Core to delay its shots; looping the Core unit around a
Reign prevents it from firing until it is in range.- Despite its durability, certain high-range, status- or spark-based threats are effective—
Foreshadow and weapons or units that apply
Shocked (with
Wet) or
Blasted (with
Freezing) deal amplified damage. Weapons that produce lightning sparks such as Swarmers, Cyclones, or Sceptres using
Surge Alloy ammo are particularly effective at damaging large targets like
Reign. - Specialized defenses such as
Phase Walls on the ground path and high-damage long-range towers (e.g.,
Foreshadow) can chip away at it if supported by Repair Turret/Vela healing or diversion from units like
Oct.
Reign’s footprint and cost make it less practical for defensive duty compared to smaller units; it also remains vulnerable to clustered, high-damage tactics and
Blast Compound kamikaze strategies.
Operational notes and version history highlights:
Reign was introduced as Eradicator (Version 5.x) and later renamed while receiving several balance changes: significant health increases, damage adjustments, range and speed tweaks, and a size increase in later updates. Its item capacity also changed across versions (from 110 → 100 → 120).- It can drown in deep water but does so much more slowly than many units.
Reign shares the highest raw health with
Oct, and it holds the highest armor on
Serpulo and the third-highest armor in the game overall.

Reign to prioritize walls and cores once a breach is created; pair with
Corvus or long-range support to capitalize on openings. - Counter
Reign with high-range, spark-generating weapons, Foreshadows, or status-combination loadouts that amplify damage. - Build Megas or heavy repair support when sieging to keep defenses intact against
Reign’s sustained wall damage. - Avoid committing
Reign into tight, heavily phased ground paths without healing support or diversion units due to
Phase Wall vulnerabilities and potent anti-large units.
