Radbolt Joint Plate

Overview

Radbolt Joint Plate is a building component whose sole documented function is to allow Radbolts to pass through walls. When a Radbolt Joint Plate is present in a wall tile, Radbolts that would normally be blocked by that wall are permitted to travel through the wall at that location. The component acts as a pass-through for these radiation-based projectiles, altering normal line-of-sight and containment behavior for Radbolts.

Because the plate changes whether a wall blocks Radbolts, it affects how Radbolts propagate on both sides of a wall. Installing Radbolt Joint Plates in selective wall tiles lets Radbolts cross otherwise impermeable barriers without changing the wall material or creating an open gap. This makes the plate useful wherever a deliberate, localized connection is needed for Radbolt travel while retaining the structural or environmental separation that a closed wall provides.

Practical considerations when using Radbolt Joint Plate include:

  • Use the plate to create controlled paths for Radbolts without removing or compromising entire walls. A single plate can function as a dedicated transfer point while adjacent wall tiles remain intact.
  • Installing plates changes containment strategy. Areas thought to be shielded from Radbolts by walls may become exposed if a plate is present; conversely, placing plates can enable remote targeting or routing where Radbolt sources and receivers are separated by standard walls.
  • The plate provides a targeted passage for Radbolts only; it does not, by itself, imply any other transfer of gases, liquids, or solids through the wall. Its documented effect is limited to permitting Radbolts to traverse the wall tile in which it is installed.
  • Because the plate modifies interaction with Radbolts, consider its placement carefully within defensive, research, or power-generation setups that involve Radbolt generation or mitigation to avoid unintended exposures or to facilitate intentional connections.
  • The plate’s use is local to the wall tile it occupies. To create a line or corridor for Radbolts through multiple layers of wall, a plate must be added at each tile where passage is required.

Radbolt Joint Plate is a specialized component intended for scenarios where controlled passage of Radbolts through an otherwise impermeable wall is desired. It is a single-purpose tool: install it where Radbolt transmission through a closed wall is necessary, and avoid placing it where strict wall-based containment of Radbolts is required.
