Orange Sapling

The Orange Sapling is a fruit tree sapling that grows into an Orange Tree. Once planted, it takes 28 days to mature. After that, it produces one Orange per day during Summer.

Fruit trees must be planted in the center of a 3×3 area, and all nine tiles must remain completely clear while the tree is growing. This includes objects, flooring, terrain features, and even grass. The 3×3 area of one fruit tree cannot overlap the 3×3 area of another fruit tree. After the tree has fully grown, the surrounding tiles no longer need to stay clear.

An Orange Tree improves the quality of its fruit by one step for each full year after it matures, up to iridium quality after three years. Fruit trees can also be planted in the Greenhouse, where they can grow and produce fruit regardless of season. If a fruit tree is struck by lightning during a storm, it will produce Coal for 4 days instead of fruit.

• Growth stages last 7 days each for the first four stages, for a total of 28 days before the tree is mature.
• Once mature, it harvests automatically every day in Summer.
• Lightning can temporarily override its fruit production.
• The tree’s 3×3 planting space only matters until it finishes growing.
