Overview

Pomegranate is a fruit obtained from the Pomegranate Tree, a fruit tree that matures after 28 days and then produces one Pomegranate each day during Fall. Like all fruit trees, it must be planted in the center of a completely clear 3×3 area, with no objects, flooring, terrain features, grass, or overlap with another fruit tree’s planting area. Once the tree has fully grown, the surrounding 3×3 space no longer needs to be kept clear, and fruit trees can also be planted in the Greenhouse.

A mature fruit tree improves in quality each year after it is fully grown, eventually reaching iridium quality after three years. If a fruit tree is struck by lightning during a storm, it produces Coal for four days instead of fruit. The tree’s growth stages are 7 days each for the first four stages, for a total of 28 days before harvests begin.

Pomegranate is used in community progression and crafting-related systems, and it also has a dyeing and tailoring use. It can be placed in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the dyeable Relaxed Fit Pants, and it acts as a purple dye ingredient at the dye pots in Emily and Haley’s house at 2 Willow Lane.

  • Harvesting Pomegranate regularly is easiest once the tree is mature, since it produces one fruit per day in Fall.
  • Because fruit trees retain their planting area only until maturity, nearby spaces can be used more freely after the tree has fully grown.
  • Planting in the Greenhouse allows a Pomegranate Tree to keep producing fruit regardless of season.
  • A lightning strike does not destroy the tree, but it temporarily converts production into Coal for four days.
  • Higher-quality fruit can be obtained naturally from older trees, making long-term orchard planning worthwhile.
