Overview

Elliott is a villager who lives in a cabin on the beach south of Pelican Town, near Willy’s Fish Shop. He is one of the twelve characters available to marry, and he is friends with Willy and Leah. If neither the player nor Elliott is dancing with anyone else at the Flower Dance, he will dance with Leah.

During Spring, Summer, and Fall, the player must reach 2 hearts of friendship with Elliott before being allowed inside his cabin. In Winter, his cabin is open to players of any friendship level between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Elliott’s daily routine changes with season, weather, and friendship progress. His regular schedule usually keeps him at home in the morning before he heads out to the beach or nearby areas, while rain keeps him indoors all day. On some Fridays, if any player has at least 6 hearts with him, he goes to Pierre’s General Store. On some Fridays and Sundays, if no player has 6 hearts with Leah, he spends the day between the docks and The Stardrop Saloon. When that condition does not apply, he follows a more general beach-and-bridge routine. Other notable schedule changes include a clinic visit on Summer 9, a Desert Festival appearance on Spring 15 if bus service has been restored, and a role as a vendor during the Desert Festival. He may also spend days at the Beach Resort on Ginger Island after it is unlocked, but he does not visit the resort on festival days or on his checkup day at Harvey’s Clinic.

Elliott’s loved, liked, neutral, disliked, and hated gifts make him easy to befriend if the player can remember a few key preferences.

After marriage, Elliott moves into the farmhouse and adds his own room to the right of the bedroom. He also sets up a small garden behind the farmhouse, where he sometimes goes to read. On rainy mornings and on mornings when he stays inside the farmhouse all day, he may offer Coffee. On rainy nights, he may offer dinner: Baked Fish, Fried Calamari, Chowder, or Fish Stew. On New Year’s Eve, he gives the player a bottle of Wine.

Elliott can also request items from the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store. Completing one of these requests rewards the player with three times the item’s base value and 150 friendship points. Secret Note #7 confirms that he is one of the three “older bachelors” in Pelican Town. A 10-heart event note says to meet him on a sunny day, but the event still triggers if it is snowing.
