Crab Cakes

Crab Cakes are a cooked dish that can be made in the kitchen of an upgraded farmhouse or with a Cookout Kit. They are a valuable food item, with high edibility and a sell price of 275g, and they provide a long-lasting buff for 16 minutes and 47 seconds.

Besides cooking them directly, Crab Cakes can be obtained in several other ways. Iridium Crabs in the Skull Cavern have a 50% chance to drop Crab Cakes when defeated. Gus sells an unlimited number of them at the Stardrop Saloon for a limited time after viewing Willy’s 6-heart cutscene. They are also sold by the Calico Egg Merchant during the Desert Festival in exchange for Calico Eggs, and one may be found by opening a Mystery Box. The Prize Machine can also award 5 Crab Cakes at once.

Crab Cakes have a few practical uses beyond being eaten. They can be placed in the Sewing Machine spool to make the Crab Cake Shirt, and they can also be used as orange dye in the dye pots at Emily and Haley’s house. Because they are both a high-value cooked dish and a crafting and dyeing ingredient, they are useful to keep at least one on hand even if you do not plan to consume them immediately.
