Overview

George Mullner is a villager who lives in Pelican Town. He is married to Evelyn and lives with her and his grandson Alex; Alex’s deceased mother Clara was George’s daughter. George is usually found at home, where he spends much of the day watching TV, sitting at the kitchen table, or going to bed in the evening.

His routine changes on certain days and during special events. On the 23rd of every season, he has an appointment at Harvey’s Clinic, where he is accompanied by Evelyn. On rainy days he stays home, on Summer Fridays he spends part of the day sitting outside under the tree west of his house, and on Sundays he either goes to the Statue of Yoba inside Pierre’s home or, if Alex’s 14-heart event has been seen, to the back room of the Saloon. He also visits the Night Market on Winter 17, attends the Desert Festival when available, and spends Green Rain in Year 1 indoors in his kitchen. George never visits the Beach Resort on Ginger Island.

George’s gift preferences are straightforward. He loves Fried Mushroom and Leek. He likes Daffodil, and is neutral toward many common items, including most eggs, fruits, milk, and several foraged or mined items such as Chanterelle, Common Mushroom, Ginger, Hazelnut, Magma Cap, Morel, Purple Mushroom, Snow Yam, and Winter Root. He dislikes most flowers except Poppy, as well as Salmonberry and Wild Horseradish, and he hates Clay, Dandelion, Holly, and Quartz. After gaining any amount of friendship, he may occasionally mail the player a gift of good-quality stone.

George also sends recipes as his friendship grows. At 3 hearts, he mails the recipe for Fried Eel, and at 7 hearts he mails the recipe for Spicy Eel. He is also involved in the quest “Knee Therapy,” in which he sends a letter on the 25th of Summer requesting a Hot Pepper. He may also request items from the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store, and he is the recipient of the Advanced TV Remote in The Pirate’s Wife quest.

A few other notes make George distinct. He can be seen with special dialogue for weddings, festivals, doctor visits, and later friendship events. He does not attend the Feast of the Winter Star, though dialogue data exists for him there. When moving, he uses walking footstep sounds even though he is in a wheelchair.
