Vinegar

Vinegar is a cooking ingredient used in a variety of recipes. It can be purchased from the general store, and during the Desert Festival it can also be bought from George’s shop for Calico Eggs. Another way to obtain it is by placing Rice in a Keg, which produces two Vinegar.

Besides cooking, Vinegar has a few other uses. It can be applied to a tree to prevent Moss from growing on it, which makes it useful for keeping trees clean when you do not want Moss on the trunk. It is also used in the Sewing Machine to create the dyeable Orange Gi.

Because it is both buyable and craftable, Vinegar is easy to keep on hand for recipes and utility use. The Keg method is especially convenient if you already have a steady supply of Rice, since it yields two Vinegar at once rather than a single unit.
