Coffee

Coffee is a drink made by placing 5 Coffee Beans of the same quality in a Keg. It can also be bought at the Stardrop Saloon, obtained as a free cup from the Desert Trader at the Night Market, purchased at George's and Harvey's shops during the Desert Festival, earned from Gil by submitting an Egg Rating of 5-9 during the Desert Festival, or collected each morning from a Coffee Maker if the player owns one. It may also appear as 1-2 units in Supply Crates on the Beach Farm before the farmhouse has been upgraded, as a guaranteed gold-tier reward on the 12th day of SquidFest, from Mystery Boxes, or as a monster drop when wearing a Hot Java Ring.

When consumed, Coffee grants +1 Speed for 1m 23s. This also increases horse speed. As a drink buff, it stacks with food buffs, including other speed-boosting foods, but it replaces any other drink buff, such as those from Triple Shot Espresso, Ginger Ale, or Green Tea. Because of its mobility boost, Coffee is useful for travel, farming, and keeping pace with time-sensitive tasks throughout the day.

Coffee is unusual among Keg products because it is not considered an Artisan Good, so its sale price does not benefit from the Artisan profession. It also cannot be sold to the General Store and must be shipped through the Shipping Bin. When brewing it, the Keg only accepts a stack of 5 beans that all share the same quality; mixed-quality beans cannot be used together.

Coffee also has a few crafting and customization uses. It can be used in the Sewing Machine spool to create the Pour-Over Shirt, and it serves as an orange dye in the dye pots at Emily's and Haley's house.
