Shipping Bin

The Shipping Bin is a farm building used to sell items overnight. By placing items into the bin, the player ships them and receives gold after going to sleep for the night. It is part of the game’s shipping system, which pays the same amount as selling to a merchant, but with payment delayed until the next day. Item quality still matters: Iridium-quality items sell for the most, followed by gold, silver, and regular quality.

A Shipping Bin opens its lid when the player approaches it. To ship an item or stack of items, the player can either use the bin first and then click an item in the inventory, or select an item first and then click the bin. If a mistake is made, the last item shipped can be retrieved later that same day by using the bin again and clicking the displayed item. Only the most recently shipped item can be taken back.

Each farm map begins with one preinstalled Shipping Bin, and that bin can be moved. Additional Shipping Bins can be purchased from the Carpenter’s Shop and placed anywhere on the farm. They are built instantly upon purchase. A Shipping Bin can also be demolished, but only if the player already has another Shipping Bin; Mini-Shipping Bins do not count for this purpose.

Shipping is not identical to selling directly to a merchant. Some items can be sold only through the Shipping Bin, while others cannot be shipped at all and must be sold elsewhere, such as weapons sold to the Adventurer’s Guild. Items sold to merchants are not counted in the Collection tab, and they do not contribute to shipping-related achievements. By contrast, shipped items are tracked in the Shipping Collection tab, which records which items have been shipped and how many.

The Shipping Collection is also tied to perfection and achievements. To reach 100% perfection, the player must ship at least one of every item shown in the Shipping Collection. Shipping is associated with three achievements:

• Polyculture: ship 15 of each crop
• Monoculture: ship 300 of one crop
• Full Shipment: ship every item

Because gold is received automatically after sleeping, the Shipping Bin is most useful for clearing inventory at the end of the day and for tracking completion goals. It is a core part of farm management and one of the main ways to turn harvests and gathered goods into profit.
