Pet Bowl

The Pet Bowl is a farm building purchasable from Robin at the Carpenter's Shop. The player starts with one free Pet Bowl for their first pet, and that bowl remains on the farm even if the player declines to adopt the pet. Additional Pet Bowls can be bought later to support more pets from Marnie's Ranch.

Each pet needs its own Pet Bowl to avoid losing friendship. For every night a pet does not have a bowl, it will lose 10 friendship points the next morning. Pets without a Pet Bowl are also unable to exit the Farmhouse. Watering a pet's bowl increases that pet's friendship by 6 points by the next morning, as long as it is not raining the following day. The bowl occupies a 2×2 area, though flooring can be placed over those four tiles; the bowl itself still remains visible above the flooring.

The Pet Bowl comes in three varieties: Wood, Stone, and Hay. It begins as Wood, and its appearance can be changed through Painting. The visible bowl style shifts slightly with the season, but the structure itself functions the same regardless of its variant.

• A free Pet Bowl is granted at the start of a save file.
• Extra pets do not require their bowls to be built before adoption, but they will be penalized each night without one.
• Watering the bowl is an easy daily friendship boost, so long as rain does not prevent it from taking effect the next morning.
• The bowl can be placed over flooring, which makes it easier to integrate into a decorated farm layout.
