Overview

A Cabin is a multiplayer farm building used as housing for a farmhand. It provides a private room that a second player can use on the farm, and its interior layout matches the main Farmhouse exactly. Farmhands can also sleep in cabins that are not their own, but only the owner of a cabin can move that cabin’s bed.

Cabins can be enabled when starting a new game, in which case the game automatically chooses both their style and placement. If a Cabin is purchased from the Carpenter’s Shop, the player can choose the style and where to place it. Several cabin appearances exist, including Stone Cabin, Plank Cabin, Log Cabin, Neighbor Cabin, Rustic Cabin, Beach Cabin, and Trailer Cabin.

Each farmhand can upgrade their own Cabin three times at the Carpenter’s Shop, using the same dialogue and upgrade process as the Farmhouse. Each upgrade takes 3 days to complete and costs the same as the equivalent Farmhouse upgrade. Cabin upgrades are independent from one another, and one farmhand cannot upgrade another farmhand’s housing or the main Farmhouse on their behalf.

Cabins behave as separate housing units, so multiplayer households can progress independently once they are built. Their placement is also a practical consideration, since cabins bought later can be positioned more freely than those assigned automatically at the start of a save. The cabin interior’s similarity to the Farmhouse means that farmhands gain access to the same general home space and upgrade structure, while still keeping housing ownership separate.

  • Cabins are only relevant for multiplayer and farmhands.
  • The player can choose Cabin style and placement when buying one from the Carpenter’s Shop.
  • Cabin interiors are identical to the Farmhouse interior.
  • A farmhand may sleep in another cabin, but only the owner can move that cabin’s bed.
  • Each cabin has its own independent upgrade track, with three upgrades total.
  • Cabin upgrades use the same Carpenter’s Shop dialogue, cost, and 3-day construction time as Farmhouse upgrades.
