Farmhouse
Overview
The Farmhouse is the player’s home on the farm, and it can be upgraded by
The first upgrade costs 10,000g and adds a kitchen with a cooking counter and a fridge that works like a chest; ingredients stored in the fridge can be used for cooking even when they are not in the player’s inventory. It also adds a bedroom, upgrades the bed from single to double, and allows marriage. The second upgrade costs 65,000g and adds two new rooms, one empty and one with a crib and two child beds, allowing the player to have children. It also enlarges the kitchen and bedroom, and unlocks renovations and house painting. The third upgrade costs 100,000g and adds a cellar accessible through the kitchen. The cellar includes casks for aging products such as wine and cheese, starting with 33 casks and allowing space for as many as 189.
After the second upgrade, Robin can also perform house renovations. These are completed instantly and can be refunded in full at any time, as long as the expanded area is not occupied. Available renovations include removing the crib, opening the bedroom, adding and expanding rooms, adding an attic, adding a cubby, and changing the dining room layout.
- Farmhouse interiors vary by farm type, including Standard Farm, Riverland Farm, Forest Farm, Hill-top Farm, Wilderness Farm, Four Corners Farm, Beach Farm, and Meadowlands Farm.
- After the first upgrade, the farmhouse can host a spouse room for marriage candidates, and
Krobus has a roommate room if he moves in.
Emily’s parrot is not visible to multiplayer players who have not seen her 4-heart event.
- There are achievements for upgrading the house once and twice, but not for the third upgrade or for renovations.
The island farmhouse on Ginger Island is a separate repaired house. If it is restored, the player can live there indefinitely without returning to the mainland, but spouses, children, and farm animals cannot be moved to the island.
