Wheat Flour

Wheat Flour is a cooking ingredient that can be consumed by itself. It is also a crafting product and a tailoring material, making it useful even before it is turned into food. It can be bought year-round from Pierre's General Store and from JojaMart, and Pierre also sells it during the Desert Festival for Calico Eggs. On the Beach Farm, 4–7 Wheat Flour may occasionally appear in Supply Crates, but only after the Farmhouse has been upgraded at least once.

The most reliable way to obtain Wheat Flour is to produce it in a Mill. Putting one Wheat into the Mill creates one Wheat Flour, and the finished item appears in the output box beside the Mill the next morning. This makes Wheat Flour a simple processed good to stockpile if a player has surplus wheat or wants to automate food ingredients on the farm.

Wheat Flour has a few practical uses beyond being an ingredient. It is used in cooking and can be eaten directly, but its main value comes from processing and crafting chains. It is also used in the Sewing Machine spool to create the Warm Flannel Shirt.

A few useful points:

• Wheat Flour can be purchased instead of produced, which is helpful if a recipe or tailoring project needs it immediately.
• Milling wheat into Wheat Flour is profitable, and the flour can then be cooked into Bread for additional profit.
• Even so, converting Wheat into Beer in a Keg is more profitable than milling it, so wheat has a stronger money-making use if the player is choosing between production paths.
• Because it is a cooking ingredient, Wheat Flour is worth keeping in reserve rather than selling every copy right away.
• Its appearance in Beach Farm Supply Crates provides a small bonus source, but it is not a dependable supply compared with buying it or using a Mill.
