Pink Cake

Pink Cake is a cooked dish that can be made in the kitchen inside an upgraded farmhouse or with a Cookout Kit. It restores a large amount of energy and health, and its sell price makes it one of the more valuable cooked dishes in the game. The recipe is especially notable because it is profitable when made with the cheapest ingredients, including Wheat Flour and Sugar from the Mill.

Pink Cake can come from several other sources besides cooking. It may be received as a gift during the Feast of the Winter Star, appear in Krobus’ shop on Saturdays, show up in the Stardrop Saloon’s rotating stock, or be found in the garbage can outside the saloon. Five Pink Cakes can be purchased from Haley’s shop at the Desert Festival for Calico Eggs, and one can be obtained from opening a Mystery Box. If the player character is male and has earned enough friendship with his mother, she sends a letter containing a Pink Cake. Big Slimes can also drop it at a very low rate, and with a Burglar’s Ring equipped this can yield two. The Statue of Endless Fortune produces three Pink Cakes per year on the birthdays of Haley, Jas, and Vincent.

Pink Cake also has a few utility uses outside eating. It can be placed in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create a Shirt, and it can be used in the dye pots to fill the red pot in Emily and Haley’s house at 2 Willow Lane.

Because it has a high edibility value and many alternate acquisition methods, Pink Cake is one of the more versatile cooked items to keep on hand. It is worth saving a spare copy if you want the tailoring or dyeing uses, since those interactions consume the item.
