Overview

The Gold Clock is a late-game farm building that can be placed on the farm or the Ginger Island farm. Once constructed, it provides several permanent quality-of-life effects while also serving as a decorative clock that keeps time with the in-game clock.

When placed and turned on, the Gold Clock prevents debris from appearing on the farm and Ginger Island farm. This makes it especially useful for keeping large farm layouts clean, since no new clutter will spawn in open areas. Grass is not treated as debris, however, so it will still appear randomly. Trees also behave differently under its effect: they no longer randomly appear on the farms, though players can still plant them manually and let them grow normally. Existing trees may still randomly drop seeds, and trees outside the farm continue to sprout automatically as usual. Green Rain weeds are also unaffected, since they are not considered debris and disappear the next day, so they will still spawn during Green Rain.

The Gold Clock also prevents all fences from decaying, including fences placed outside the farms, so they never need repair. This makes it one of the most practical late-game buildings for maintaining an orderly farm without constant upkeep. In addition to these effects, it displays the current time. When turned off, the clock hands are replaced with an hourglass image.

Because of its sweeping utility, the Gold Clock is most valuable once a farm is already established and the player wants to preserve its layout indefinitely. It is particularly helpful for players who rely on fences, want to avoid unexpected debris blocking paths or machines, or simply prefer a permanently tidy farm. Since grass and planted trees are not removed, it can be used without interfering with intentional landscaping.

  • It prevents debris from spawning on both the farm and the Ginger Island farm.
  • It does not stop grass from appearing.
  • It stops random tree spawns on the farms, but does not affect manually planted trees.
  • It keeps fences from decaying anywhere.
  • It functions as a working clock while turned on.
  • When turned off, its display changes to an hourglass.

A note in the trivia sources suggests the building may originally have been intended to be called the Iridium Spur.
