Wizard's Tower

Region
Pelican Town

Overview

Wizard's Tower is the Wizard’s home and a major late-game location in the northwest part of Cindersap Forest. It becomes important once the player begins interacting more deeply with the Wizard’s magic, since the tower is where his special services and unique facilities are accessed.

After reaching four hearts with the Wizard, the player gains access to the basement room beneath the tower. This room contains the Shrine of Illusions, which lets the player change their name, gender, favorite thing, and the appearance chosen at character creation, at the cost of 500g per use. In the late game, after completing Goblin Problem and gaining access to the Witch’s Hut, a teleportation rune activates in the basement and allows free travel between the basement room and the Witch’s Hut.

The basement can also be used to obtain the Meowmere once the player has acquired the Far Away Stone and uses it on the pedestal in the right corner. This makes the tower more than just a story location; it also serves as a point of access for cosmetic changes and one of the game’s special secret rewards.

The Wizard’s Tower is also the place where the player can order certain magical buildings and structures after obtaining the Wizard’s Magic Ink. Interacting with the magic book inside the tower opens a construction menu that works the same way as the Carpenter’s Shop menu, allowing the player to move, paint, or demolish farm buildings. The available magical structures include the Earth Obelisk, Water Obelisk, Desert Obelisk, Island Obelisk, Junimo Hut, and Gold Clock. These buildings require no build time, but they are very expensive.

A few practical notes make the tower especially useful:

  • The basement is locked behind friendship progress with the Wizard, so its services are not available immediately.
  • The Shrine of Illusions is mainly useful for players who want to revise their character customization later in the game.
  • The teleportation rune in the basement greatly improves travel convenience once it is unlocked.
  • The tower’s building menu is accessed through the magic book, not through the Carpenter’s Shop itself.
  • The tower is the source of the Wizard Catalogue furniture set as well, including items such as the Wizard Tea Table.
