Earth Crystal

Earth Crystal is an item used in several late- and mid-game systems, especially tailoring, dyeing, building purchases, and certain quests. It is one of the materials needed to buy the Earth Obelisk from the Wizard's Tower, making it part of the progression toward farm teleportation structures.

It also has a few practical uses beyond the obelisk. Earth Crystal can be placed in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create a Shirt, and it can be used as orange dye at the dye pots in Emily and Haley's house at 2 Willow Lane. These uses make it more flexible than a simple crafting material, since it can serve both cosmetic and progression purposes.

Earth Crystal is additionally relevant to questing and fish ponds:

• It may be randomly requested on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre's General Store in any season, rewarding gold and 150 Friendship points.
• A Fish Pond quest from Stonefish requires 5 Earth Crystal to raise the pond's capacity from 3 to 5.
• Fish Pond quests from Bullhead, Catfish, or Largemouth Bass may request 1–2 Earth Crystal to raise capacity from 5 to 7.

Because it is tied to multiple systems, it is worth saving Earth Crystal instead of selling it immediately. Players often need at least one for tailoring or dyeing, and several more if they plan to complete the Earth Obelisk purchase or fill fish pond requests efficiently. Keeping a small reserve helps avoid having to wait for another drop when a quest or crafting use appears.
