Egg

Egg is an animal product obtained from White, Brown, or Blue Chickens. Brown Eggs are a separate item, but both eggs are used in the same ways for most gameplay purposes. Marnie may also give 12 eggs during the Feast of the Winter Star, and Shane sells eggs at the Desert Festival for Calico Egg.

Eggs can be hatched in an incubator, which is built into a Big Coop or Deluxe Coop. They are also used in several other systems, making them a flexible early- and mid-game item rather than just a cooking ingredient.

• Ten Eggs of any type except Dinosaur are required for the Community Center bundle.
• Eggs can be placed in the Mayonnaise Machine to produce Mayonnaise. Regular Eggs always produce regular-quality Mayonnaise, while Large Eggs always produce gold-quality Mayonnaise; the egg’s own quality does not matter.
• Egg can be used in the Sewing Machine spool to create dyeable Plain Overalls.
• Both regular and brown eggs can be used as white dye when placed in the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item.
• An Egg may be requested on the Help Wanted board outside Stone's General Store if the player owns a White Chicken, Brown Chicken, or Duck. If a Duck is owned, the request still asks for a chicken egg rather than a Duck Egg.
• Gus may request 24 Eggs for the special order “Gus' Famous Omelet,” which must be delivered to the fridge in the Stardrop Saloon.
• Five Eggs of any type except Dinosaur may be requested by the Raccoon as part of its third request, or any request starting with the sixth.

Because eggs are easy to stockpile from chickens and have multiple uses, keeping a few on hand is useful for bundles, quests, tailoring, and mayonnaise production.
