Omni Geode

Overview

The Omni Geode is a mineral deposit that can be broken open at the Blacksmith or processed in a Geode Crusher to reveal its contents. It is one of the broadest geode types in the game, capable of containing minerals, artifacts, ores, basic resources, and even a Prismatic Shard. It can also be traded to the Desert Trader for several items, making it valuable both for collection and for targeted exchanges.

Omni Geodes are found in many places, but they are most commonly obtained from rocks in the Mines, especially floors 21 and below, as well as from Skull Cavern. They can also appear in Omni Geode Nodes in the Volcano Dungeon, from crates and barrels, dirt patches, panning, artifact spots on Ginger Island, several monster drops, and a number of rewards and shop sources. They may also come from an Octopus Fish Pond at high population, the Trout Derby, the Prize Machine, Skull Cavern treasure rooms, the Crane Game in the Movie Theater lobby, and even the museum trash can. A meteorite on the farm drops 2 Omni Geodes when mined.

Unlike regular geodes, Omni Geodes have a special content table. Daily luck and luck buffs do not affect what is inside. The first 15 Omni Geodes cracked by the player also have a unique limitation: a Prismatic Shard cannot appear before that point, and the odds for minerals and artifacts are treated differently until then. After that threshold, the contents follow the normal probabilities.

Possible contents include:

Prismatic Shard, at a very low chance after the first 15 geodes.
Geode Minerals, with all 41 possible geode minerals able to appear.
Artifacts, including Dwarvish Helm, Dwarf Gadget, and Ancient Drum.
Foraged minerals, such as Earth Crystal, Frozen Tear, and Fire Quartz.
Resources, including stone, clay, coal, copper ore, iron ore, gold ore, and iridium ore.

Resource drops come in stacks rather than single items. Coal, copper ore, iron ore, and gold ore can appear in several stack sizes, stone can either follow those stack sizes or appear as a single piece, and iridium ore can appear in larger bundles. Clay is always limited to 1 per geode.

Omni Geodes also have several practical uses beyond opening them:

5 Omni Geodes can be traded for 1 Artifact Trove.
3 Omni Geodes can be traded for 1 Warp Totem: Desert.
50 Omni Geodes can be traded for 1 Green Turban.
1 Omni Geode can be traded for 3 Hay on Mondays.
333 Omni Geodes can be traded for 1 Magic Turban on even-numbered days.
333 Omni Geodes can be traded for 1 Magic Cowboy Hat on odd-numbered days.

They are also used in quests, including Fish Pond requests for Octopus, Rainbow Trout, Spook Fish, Sturgeon, or Super Cucumber, and Marlon’s “Treasure Hunt” request during the Desert Festival. In tailoring, an Omni Geode can be placed in the Sewing Machine to create the Omni Shirt, and it can also be used as gray dye with dyeable clothing.
