Slate

Slate is a mineral that can be obtained by opening a Geode or an Omni Geode. It is one of the geode minerals that can appear while breaking open these geological specimens at Clint’s Blacksmith, making it a renewable byproduct of mining and artifact collection rather than a crop or crafted good.

Slate has a small but useful role in tailoring. Placing it in the spool of the Sewing Machine with Cloth in the feed will produce a clothing item, and placing it in the spool with a dyeable clothing item in the feed uses Slate as a gray dye. This makes it one of the mineral items that can be kept for cosmetic crafting instead of being sold immediately. Because it serves a dyeing function, it is especially useful for players who want to adjust clothing colors without relying on other dye sources.
