Wizard

The Wizard is a villager who lives in the Wizard’s Tower west of Cindersap Forest. He usually stays inside the tower from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, except on certain festival days, and after the Witch’s Hut has been unlocked he can still be reached after 11:00 pm through the warp spot in the hut. He never visits the Beach Resort on Ginger Island.

The Wizard is tied to several progression points and special services in the game. After the player examines the golden scroll in the Community Center’s Crafts Room, he sends a letter and gives a potion that lets the player read Junimo text. Once four friendship hearts are reached, the basement of the Wizard’s Tower becomes available, letting the player use the Shrine of Illusions to change their appearance. He also unlocks six Wizard buildings for the Farm after the player completes the Magic Ink step of the Witch-related questline.

His quest and mail interactions are especially notable. He may send requests for Void Essence, an Iridium Bar, Ectoplasm, or Prismatic Jelly, and he can also appear on Help Wanted or Special Orders boards with monster-slaying or item-delivery tasks. The Wizard is also involved in the Dark Talisman and Goblin Problem quest chain, and he is the one who receives the Magic Ink from the Witch’s Hut. In The Pirate’s Wife quest, the Arctic Shard is gifted to him.

He also has movie and concession preferences. He loves Mysterium, likes no movies, and dislikes It Howls In The Rain, Journey of the Prairie King: The Motion Picture, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, The Brave Little Sapling, The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch, The Zuzu City Express, and Wumbus. For concessions, he loves Black Licorice, Star Cookie, and Stardrop Sorbet; likes Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jasmine Tea, Jawbreaker, Rock Candy, Salmon Burger, and Sour Slimes; and dislikes everything else.

The Wizard can send gifts by mail once friendship is above zero, with the chance increasing as friendship rises. His mail includes a short arcane note signed by M. Rasmodius, and he also has unique dialogue for every festival even when he cannot normally be reached there. His shirt can be tailored into the Arcane Shirt using Cloth and Void Essence.
