Linus

Overview
Linus is a villager who lives in a small tent west of the Mines, in the Mountains north of Pelican Town. He is a reclusive outdoorsman who prefers to live alone in harmony with nature, and much of his dialogue and event content reflects his distrust of strangers at first and his appreciation for players who respect his way of life.
Linus is usually found around his tent, the campfire in front of it, the nearby lake, or the Spa depending on the season, weather, and time of day. He never visits the Beach Resort on Ginger Island. His routines are fairly simple in spring and summer, but he can also appear at special events such as the Desert Festival, the Night Market, and Spirit's Eve. Linus is one of the few villagers who strongly values foraging and survival skills. He likes many foraged items, including wild plants, mushrooms, roots, and common seasonal forage, along with all eggs except 







His loved gifts are 


Linus can send gifts and recipes by mail as friendship increases. At any friendship level above zero, he may mail a gift. At 3 hearts, he sends the 

- At 0 hearts, an event in town reveals that Linus was looking through trash because he was trying not to let food go to waste.
- At 8 hearts,
Robin offers to build him a house, but Linus declines and says he prefers to live as he does.
- He can occasionally ask for items on the Help Wanted board, and he may request help with Community Cleanup from the Special Orders board.
- The Blackberry Basket quest begins with a letter on Fall 8 and rewards one heart of friendship when returned.
Linus also appears in several relationship scenes with other villagers. Some villagers express sympathy for him, and he later becomes close with Leo after Leo moves to the mainland. Linus and Leo bond over nature, and Leo even calls him Uncle Linus.
