Lewis

Lewis is the mayor of Pelican Town and one of the first villagers the player meets after arriving in the Valley. Along with Robin, he greets the player when they move in and explains a bit about farm life. He has held the mayoralty for twenty years without being challenged, and his life is centered on public service; he has never been married and has no family.

Lewis is also closely tied to several of the game’s town systems. He sends festival letters explaining when and where each festival will take place, may mail the player gold from the Stardew Valley Agricultural Fund once they have some friendship with him, and can send recipes at 3 hearts and 7 hearts. He is particularly connected to Marnie, which is reflected in the “Mayor’s Shorts” quest and in his 6-heart relationship event, though he does not want that relationship made public. He was also good friends with the player’s grandfather, and will toast to him if spoken to at the saloon.

Lewis’s preferred gifts are straightforward to use for friendship:

• Loves: Autumn’s Bounty, Glazed Yams, Green Tea, Hot Pepper, Vegetable Medley
• Likes: Blueberry, Cactus Fruit, Coconut
• Neutral to most eggs and most fruit, plus several forage items such as Chanterelle, Daffodil, Dandelion, Ginger, Leek, Morel, Snow Yam, and Winter Root
• Dislikes: all milk, Salmonberry, Wild Horseradish
• Hates: Holly, Quartz

He also has movie preferences. He loves Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World; likes Journey Of The Prairie King: The Motion Picture, The Brave Little Sapling, The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch, The Zuzu City Express, and Wumbus; and dislikes It Howls In The Rain and Mysterium. For concessions, he loves Jasmine Tea and Stardrop Sorbet, dislikes Black Licorice, Joja Cola, JojaCorn, and Sour Slimes, and likes everything else.

Lewis’s daily schedule changes with the day, weather, and town progress. On a normal day after the Community Center is restored, he usually wakes in his kitchen, gardens in front of the Manor, visits the town square and the area near Pierre’s, then returns home in the evening. On Tuesdays he often goes to Pierre’s and spends part of the evening at the stove in the Manor; on Fridays he goes near the Clinic, then the fountain, and later the saloon. On rainy days he stays indoors until the afternoon, then goes to the saloon. After the Community Center is restored he also spends time there, especially in the Vault Room and near the fireplace. He may also spend a day at Ginger Island’s Beach Resort once it is unlocked, though he does not visit on festival days or on his clinic checkup day.

A few events and requests are especially associated with him:

• “Mayor’s Shorts” begins on Summer 3, when he mails the player about his lost shorts and asks for them back discreetly.
• “Mayor’s Need” begins on Summer 21, Year 2, asking for Truffle Oil.
• “Crop Order” is one of his Special Orders, requiring 100 season-dependent crops for a reward of gold and a Mini-Shipping Bin.
• He may also post Help Wanted requests for monster slaying or item delivery.

Lewis appears around most town festivals and is often one of the villagers who helps direct them, reinforcing his role as Pelican Town’s official representative.
