Blueberry

Blueberry is a fruit crop that grows from Blueberry Seeds and takes 13 days to mature. Once fully grown, it regrows every 4 days, making it a perennial summer crop that can be harvested repeatedly after the first yield. Each harvest produces 3 Blueberries, with a 2% chance to produce additional berries.

The crop’s growth pattern is split into five stages before the first harvest: 1 day, 3 days, 3 days, 4 days, and 2 days. After that, each regrowth cycle lasts 4 days. Because the crop continues producing for the rest of the season once mature, Blueberry is one of the most profitable summer crops, especially when planted early enough to maximize the number of harvests.

Fertilizer choice matters less for quality-focused farming than it does for speed. Basic Fertilizer and Quality Fertilizer only affect the first berry from each harvest, which means 2 of the 3 berries are always regular quality. As a result, Speed-Gro is generally the best fertilizer for Blueberry, since it can secure one extra harvest before Fall if planted on Summer 1, increasing seasonal earnings by about 25% compared with at most 6% from Quality Fertilizer. Deluxe Speed-Gro provides the same number of harvests as regular Speed-Gro, so it is usually not worth the extra cost unless it is being bought under especially favorable conditions.

Blueberry also has several uses outside of direct sale:

• It is required for the Pantry bundle.
• Five gold-quality Blueberries may be requested for the Quality Crops Bundle.
• It may also appear as an option for the Dye Bundle.
• It can be used in tailoring to create dyeable Shorts.
• It serves as a blue dye ingredient in the dye pots at Emily and Haley’s house.

Blueberry has a small bit of flavor text connection in town dialogue as well: Mayor Lewis may mention blueberries on Sundays during Summer, and he likes Blueberries as a gift.

Because of its repeat harvests, Blueberry is especially valuable when planted at the start of Summer and supported by speed-enhancing fertilizer. It rewards players who prioritize early planting and steady summer income, while also contributing to bundles, tailoring, and dyeing.
