Cranberries

Cranberries are a fruit crop that grow from Cranberry Seeds after 7 days and continue to produce every 5 days after maturity. Each harvest yields 2 Cranberries, with a 10% chance to produce one or more additional berries, for an average of slightly more than 2 per harvest.

Because Cranberries are a multi-harvest crop, most fertilizers have only limited impact on them. Basic, Quality, and Deluxe fertilizers only affect the first berry from each harvest, and Speed-Gro fertilizers do not shorten the time between later harvests. Deluxe Speed-Gro can reduce the initial growth time from 7 days to about 5.25 days, but after that the crop still produces on the same 5-day cycle. If you want to minimize watering, retaining soil can still be useful.

Cranberries are not used in any bundles. They do have a few practical uses outside shipping and cooking: they can be placed in the Sewing Machine spool to create Farmer Pants, and they can also be used as a red dye at the dye pots in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane.

• The crop's second-day appearance can be misleading, since it looks almost identical to the dead crop sprite except for the missing brown color.
• Since the plant keeps producing after the first harvest, Cranberries are especially useful for steady income over the course of a season rather than a single large payout.
• Their repeated harvests make them more sensitive to planting date than single-harvest crops, since maximizing the number of harvest cycles matters more than boosting one early yield.
