Strawberry

Strawberry is a fruit crop that grows from Strawberry Seeds after 8 days and then produces a new strawberry every 4 days once mature. Each harvest normally yields 1 Strawberry, with a 2% chance to produce additional strawberries.

The plant has a total growth time of 8 days before the first harvest, with stage progression of 1 day, 1 day, 2 days, 2 days, and 2 days before reaching maturity. After that, it regrows in 4 days between harvests. Because of this timing, strawberries are especially valuable when planted early enough in spring to allow multiple harvests before the season ends.

Planting around the Egg Festival matters for maximizing profit. If the ground is tilled, fertilized, and watered in advance, seeds bought at the festival can be planted right after it ends at 10:00 pm. Under normal conditions, strawberries planted on Spring 13 or Spring 14 can yield 2 harvests, but speed-increasing fertilizer can raise that total to 3 harvests if used effectively. In Spring of Year 1, getting 3 harvests is possible with Speed-Gro by planting on Spring 13; this is easiest if the Spring Crops Bundle is completed, since that requires planting cauliflower on Spring 1 and then visiting the Community Center after the Egg Festival and before planting the strawberries.

Strawberry also has a few non-farming uses. It can be used in the Sewing Machine spool to create the dyeable Farmer Pants, and it can be placed in a dye pot as a red dye item.
