Demetrius

Demetrius is a villager who lives at 24 Mountain Road on The Mountain with his wife Robin, his daughter Maru, and his step-son Sebastian. He is a scientist who studies the valley’s local wildlife and is often seen working in his laboratory or taking notes outdoors.

His daily routine is centered around his home, though it changes with weather, season, and festivals. He can sometimes be found at the Clinic on Summer 25, at the Desert Festival on Spring 16 and as a vendor during the Desert Festival, and at the Beach Resort on Ginger Island after it is unlocked. On Fridays, he usually spends the evening at the Saloon with Robin, and if he is at the island resort he returns home at 6:00 PM and goes straight to bed. In rainy weather he stays mostly at home, though he may also spend time near the Carpenter’s Shop. His regular schedule includes time at the microscope, outside by the lake, or near his house’s cliff area.

Demetrius is married to Robin and lives with Maru and Sebastian. Maru is his daughter with Robin, while Sebastian is Robin’s son from a previous relationship. His dialogue and events show that he is especially protective of Maru. If Robin is building something on the farm on a night when the two go to the Saloon, he will go and dance by himself.

He loves all universal loves: Bean Hotpot, Ice Cream, Rice Pudding, and Strawberries. He also likes all universal likes, all eggs except Void Egg, all fruit except Strawberry, Dinosaur Egg, and Purple Mushroom. His neutral gifts include all fish except Carp and Snail, all milk, and a range of forage items such as Chanterelle, Common Mushroom, Daffodil, Dandelion, Ginger, Hazelnut, Leek, Magma Cap, Morel, Snow Yam, Wild Horseradish, and Winter Root. He dislikes Quartz and hates Holly.

At the movies, Demetrius loves Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World and Wumbus. He likes It Howls In The Rain, Journey Of The Prairie King: The Motion Picture, Mysterium, and The Brave Little Sapling. He dislikes The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch and The Zuzu City Express. For concessions, he loves Popcorn and Stardrop Sorbet, dislikes Black Licorice, Hummus Snack Pack, Jasmine Tea, Joja Cola, JojaCorn, Kale Smoothie, and Panzanella Salad, and likes everything else.

Demetrius sends gifts by mail after you have at least some friendship with him, with the chance increasing as friendship rises. He also has several events and requests tied to farming and research. He will visit the farm to ask for help with his research and offer a choice to improve The Cave by attracting Fruit Bats or producing Mushrooms. In summer, he sends a letter about the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies. His quests include Crop Research, which asks for a Melon, Aquatic Research, which asks for a Pufferfish, and special orders such as Aquatic Overpopulation and Biome Balance, which reward the Farm Computer recipe.

If you incubate a Dinosaur Egg and speak to Demetrius, he gives you a Triple Shot Espresso. He also sends a gift in the mail when your friendship is above zero, and he may request random help-wanted tasks at Pierre’s General Store.
