Spice Berry

The Spice Berry is a summer forageable fruit in Stardew Valley. It can be found naturally while foraging throughout the season, and it can also appear from Summer Seeds and from the Farm Cave if the fruit bat option is chosen. Outside normal gathering, it may be sold at the Desert Festival, where three Spice Berries can be bought from Demetrius’s shop for Calico Eggs, and it can also show up at random in garbage cans during Summer.

Because it is both a forage item and a crop-like ingredient, the Spice Berry has several practical uses beyond selling or gifting. Putting one into a Seed Maker produces 1–3 Summer Seeds, making it the only summer forageable that can be directly processed this way. This gives it a niche role in turning one found berry into more seasonal forage opportunities. It is also used in tailoring and dyeing: placing a Spice Berry in the Sewing Machine spool creates the dyeable Green Buttoned Vest, and it can be used as an orange dye at the dye pots in Emily and Haley’s house at 2 Willow Lane.

The Spice Berry can also appear in Help Wanted requests during Summer on the board outside Stone’s General Store, where fulfilling the request awards gold and friendship points. Since it is a seasonal forage item, players often collect it while moving around the Valley in Summer rather than relying on a specific source.
