Harvey

Harvey is a villager who lives in Pelican Town and runs the town’s medical clinic. He is passionate about the health of the townsfolk and is one of the twelve characters available to marry.

Most weekdays, Harvey works at the clinic’s front desk in the morning and then spends part of the afternoon exercising or walking around town. On Tuesdays and Thursdays he gives villagers their annual or quarterly checkups at the clinic instead of following his usual routine. On rainy days, he leaves the clinic at noon and goes upstairs to his room even if there are patients waiting, then later stops by the Stardrop Saloon. After the Beach Resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, he may randomly spend a day there, but he never visits on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or festival days.

His schedule changes with the day and weather, but several patterns are especially useful when looking for him:

• On regular days, he is usually at the clinic from 8:30 AM until midday, then walking around town before returning in the evening.
• On Fridays, he goes to Pierre’s General Store at noon.
• On Saturdays, he leaves home to go to the Museum in the morning and returns in the afternoon.
• On rainy days, he spends the late afternoon at the Stardrop Saloon.
• During the Desert Festival, he serves as a vendor in Calico Desert, and he also attends the festival as a clinic representative on Spring 15, 16, and 17 after the bus is restored.
• In Year 1 Green Rain, he stays at the Stardrop Saloon all day.

Harvey works closely with Maru at the clinic, and the two can be seen together at the Luau. If neither is chosen by the player, they will dance together at the Flower Dance.

Harvey loves a number of valuable and easy-to-remember gifts, including Coffee, Pickles, Super Meal, Truffle Oil, and Wine, as well as Stardrop Tea. He also likes many foraged goods, animal products, and several universal likes. His dislikes include Bread, Cheese, Goat Cheese, and many cooked dishes, while he hates the usual universal hates such as Coral, Nautilus Shell, Rainbow Shell, Salmonberry, and Spice Berry.

At the movies, Harvey loves The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch and The Zuzu City Express, likes Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, The Brave Little Sapling, and Wumbus, and dislikes It Howls In The Rain, Journey Of The Prairie King: The Motion Picture, and Mysterium. For concessions, he loves Apple Slices, Jasmine Tea, and Stardrop Sorbet, likes several snack items including Cappuccino Mousse Cake and Salmon Burger, and dislikes everything else.

Once married, Harvey moves into the farmhouse and adds his own room to the right of the bedroom. He also sets up a small garden behind the farmhouse, where he sometimes goes to read. He keeps working at the clinic and still travels to town on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When he stays inside the farmhouse all day, he may give the player Complete Breakfast in the morning. On rainy nights, he may offer dinner such as Salmon Dinner, Crispy Bass, Fried Eel, Carp Surprise, or Vegetable Medley.

Harvey may also request items on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store. Fulfilling one of these requests rewards 3 times the item’s base value and 150 friendship points.
