Nautilus Shell

The Nautilus Shell is a foraged item found on The Beach during Winter. It can also appear on the Beach Farm in any season, and it may be obtained from several other sources: as a random gift in the mail from Demetrius, as a gift at the Feast of the Winter Star, from the Traveling Cart, from a pet turtle with max friendship, or by foraging in levels 1–29 of the Mines while the Shrine of Challenge is enabled or the Danger in The Deep quest is active. One can also be purchased from Demetrius’ shop at the Desert Festival for Calico Eggs.

The Nautilus Shell is not used in any recipes, but it does have a few niche uses. It can be placed in the Sewing Machine spool to create the dyeable Strapped Top, and it can be used as orange dye in the dye pots at Emily and Haley’s house.

It is also requested in Fish Pond progression: a Sturgeon may ask for one Nautilus Shell to increase the pond’s capacity from 7 to 10. In addition, several Crab Pot fish can produce a Nautilus Shell once the pond population reaches 9.
