Evelyn

Evelyn Mullner is a villager who lives in Pelican Town and oversees the town’s flowers. She lives with her husband George and their grandson Alex. Her daughter Clara is deceased, and Evelyn and George raised Alex after Clara’s death. When the player first meets all the townspeople, Evelyn allows them to call her “Granny.”

Evelyn usually spends her time in her kitchen, at the kitchen table, or tending the town’s gardens just outside the square. On most days she stands with George near the TV late in the morning, then goes to care for the plants in the town center in spring and summer, or in the southeast area of town during the regular schedule. She also has set appointments at Harvey’s clinic on the 2nd of every season, and on the 23rd of every season she accompanies George to his appointment. She never visits the Beach Resort on Ginger Island. If the Community Center has been restored, she may instead spend Monday, Thursday, and Saturday there in the crafts room. She also has special routines for rain, Green Rain, Winter 17, the Desert Festival, and other seasonal events.

Evelyn’s loved gifts are Beet, Chocolate Cake, Diamond, Fairy Rose, Grape, Stuffing, and Tulip. She likes beach forage items except Seaweed, Broken Glasses, Clam, Cockle, Coral, Daffodil, Mussel, Nautilus Shell, Oyster, and Sea Urchin. She is neutral toward most universal neutral items, most eggs, and most fruit, along with Chanterelle, Common Mushroom, Dandelion, Ginger, Hazelnut, Leek, Magma Cap, Morel, Purple Mushroom, Snow Yam, and Winter Root. She dislikes Quartz and Wild Horseradish, and hates the usual universal hates plus Clay, Fried Eel, Garlic, Holly, Maki Roll, Salmonberry, Sashimi, Spice Berry, Spicy Eel, and Trout Soup.

Evelyn can send gifts in the mail once friendship is above zero, and the chance increases with higher friendship. At 7 hearts, she mails the player the Rice Pudding recipe. She also sends a letter on Spring 15, and at the start of Year 2 she may request a Leek for “Granny’s Gift.” On the Special Orders board, she may ask for 12 Leeks for “Gifts for George,” which must be delivered to the stove in her house.

At the movie theater, Evelyn loves The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch and The Zuzu City Express, likes Journey of the Prairie King: The Motion Picture, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, The Brave Little Sapling, and Wumbus, and dislikes It Howls in the Rain and Mysterium. For concessions, she loves Cappuccino Mousse Cake, Star Cookie, and Stardrop Sorbet; dislikes Black Licorice, Fries, Jasmine Tea, Joja Cola, JojaCorn, Nachos, Personal Pizza, Popcorn, Salted Peanuts, and Truffle Popcorn; and likes everything else.

Evelyn has a few memorable dialogue states tied to marriage, the clinic, festivals, winter, and Green Rain. She also has an unused trivia note indicating she may still mention sharing her Cookie recipe after already giving it in her 4-heart event.
