A traditional spring flower that makes a nice gift.

Overview

The Daffodil is a forage item found in Spring, and it can also be grown from Spring Seeds. Although its description identifies it as a flower, the game classifies it as Forage rather than Flower. It is a spring collectible with several sources, making it one of the more common seasonal items to pick up early in the year.

Daffodils can be obtained in several ways during Spring. They may be foraged in the wild, randomly found in Garbage Cans, or produced from Spring Seeds. Up to ten can be purchased from Stone at the Flower Dance, and up to five can be purchased from Evelyn's shop at the Desert Festival for Calico Eggs. In addition, the Statue Of Endless Fortune produces one Daffodil each year on Sandy's birthday, Fall 15.

The item is edible, but it restores neither Energy nor Health, so it has no practical value as food. Its main uses are as a crafting, tailoring, dyeing, and quest item rather than as a consumable. It may also be useful to keep a few on hand because of its seasonal accessibility and multiple non-food applications.

  • In the Sewing Machine, a Daffodil placed in the spool creates a Shirt.
  • It can be used in dyeing as a yellow dye item at the dye pots in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane.
  • It may be randomly requested in Spring on the Help Wanted board outside Stone's General Store, rewarding gold and 150 Friendship points.

Because Daffodils are available through foraging and Spring Seeds, they are easy to stockpile during the season. Players who focus on completion, tailoring, or quest fulfillment may want to save extras instead of selling them immediately. Their usefulness is highest in Spring, when they can be collected naturally and often appear in quests or festival-related offerings.
