Caroline is a villager who lives in Pelican Town. She is married to Pierre and lives with him and their daughter Abigail in Pierre’s General Store. She is closely connected to Jodi, who describes Caroline as her best friend, and the two attend aerobics class on Tuesdays with Marnie, Emily, and Robin.
Caroline’s routine centers on the store, her home, and a few town locations. On most days she starts in the kitchen of Pierre’s General Store, later moves to her sunroom, and then heads into the store or town square before returning home in the evening. Her schedule changes on certain days and when conditions are met: on Tuesdays she joins the aerobics class in her living room, on Wednesdays she visits the fountain west of the Community Center, on Fridays she goes to the Museum, and on Sundays she spends part of the day at home before visiting the area south of the Community Center. When the Community Center is restored, she may spend Saturdays there reading. On rainy days she stays indoors for most of the day, and on the 25th of Fall she visits Harvey’s Clinic for a checkup. She also appears on Winter 16 at the Night Market, and on Spring 15 or during the Desert Festival she travels to Calico Desert. After the Beach Resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, Caroline may randomly spend the day there; if she leaves the island at 6:00 PM, she goes straight home to bed. She does not visit the Resort on festival days or on her clinic checkup day.
Caroline can also send gifts by mail once friendship is above zero. The chance increases with friendship, and the gift she sends is a vegetable from the small garden behind her home. She may also request items through quests: on Fall 19 she sends the player a letter requesting a Pumpkin for the “Carving Pumpkins” quest, and she can appear on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store. On the Special Orders board, she may request that the player grow and ship 100 Ginger, Pineapple, or Taro Root for the “Island Ingredients” order, which rewards gold and the Solar Panel recipe once Ginger Island is unlocked.
Caroline also has several movie preferences. She loves Journey of the Prairie King: The Motion Picture and The Brave Little Sapling, likes several other films including It Howls in the Rain and Mysterium, and dislikes Wumbus. For concessions, she loves Jasmine Tea, Stardrop Sorbet, and Truffle Popcorn, dislikes foods such as Black Licorice and Joja Cola, and likes everything else.
A few details of her dialogue and events stand out: she sends the recipe for Parsnip Soup, which is amusingly related to one of Pierre’s hated gifts; despite disliking Mayonnaise, she loves Fish Taco; and if her 2-heart event is triggered during the last week of Spring, Summer, or Fall, the player can collect Tea Leaves from the Tea Bush when she harvests it.
