Alex

Alex is a villager who lives in the house southeast of Pierre's General Store. He is one of the twelve marriage candidates, and after marriage he moves into the farmhouse, adds his own room to the right of the bedroom, and sets up a workout area behind the farmhouse where he sometimes lifts weights.

He is the grandson of George and Evelyn, and he also has a dog named Dusty. Alex is friends with Haley, and if neither of them is dancing with the player, they will dance together at the Flower Dance. Before moving in with his grandparents, he lived with his mother Clara; after she died, he came to live with George and Evelyn. He has a strained relationship with his father.

Alex’s daily routine changes with the season and weather. In Spring and Fall, he usually leaves home in the morning and spends part of the day outside near his house, often with his gridball, then moves toward the left side of the fenced area in the afternoon. In Summer, he goes to the beach in the morning and works at the Ice Cream Stand near the museum in the afternoon. In Winter, he works out at the Spa on most days, and when he is not there, he stays at his house. On rainy days, he stays indoors longer and spends time lifting weights in his room. He also has special schedules for the Desert Festival, the Flower Dance, the Green Rain event, and his clinic visit on Summer 16. After the Beach Resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, he may also spend random days there.

At the movies, Alex loves It Howls In The Rain and Wumbus, likes several other films including Journey of the Prairie King: The Motion Picture and Mysterium, and dislikes Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World. For concessions, he loves Salmon Burger and Stardrop Sorbet, dislikes Black Licorice, Cotton Candy, Jawbreaker, Joja Cola, JojaCorn, Rock Candy, and Sour Slimes, and likes everything else.

Once married, Alex may offer breakfast on days when he stays inside all day, or dinner on rainy nights. His possible breakfast is Omelet, Hashbrowns, or Pancakes, and his possible dinner includes Survival Burger, Dish O’ The Sea, Fried Eel, Crispy Bass, or Baked Fish.

Alex may randomly request an item on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store. The reward is three times the item’s base value plus 150 friendship points. His eight-heart event can also be triggered in any season after repairing Willy’s Boat if the player follows him to Ginger Island.

At one point during development, Alex was named Josh.
