Spa

Region
Pelican Town

Overview

The Spa is a location in the southwest area of the Railroad. It becomes available once the Railroad is unlocked, and serves as a safe place to recover energy and health. By entering the spa, passing through the changing room, and standing still in the pool, the player restores 10 energy and 10 health per second.

There are two changing rooms, one for women and one for men. The player can normally enter only the changing room matching their character’s gender, but it is possible to force entry into the other room by trying to enter it several times in quick succession from the pool area. When moving from the locker room to the pool through the covered path, the player is forced to walk and changes into a swimsuit. The swimsuit’s color matches the color of the pants currently worn. Prismatic pants produce a prismatic swimsuit, and undershorts produce a white swimsuit.

The water outside the spa can also be used for fishing, except during Winter when it is frozen. Before Secret Note #25 is found or after its puzzle has already been solved, fishing there can yield the painting Vista, while trash is the only other catch. After reading Secret Note #25, the first time fishing there triggers the secret associated with that note.

A weather forecast tip about the Spa can also appear on Livin’ Off The Land on the 15th of Summer in odd-numbered years.

  • The spa is in the southwest part of the Railroad.
  • Resting in the pool restores both energy and health at 10 points per second.
  • There are separate men’s and women’s changing rooms.
  • The game lets the player enter the opposite changing room only after repeated attempts from the pool side.
  • Swimsuit appearance depends on the pants worn.
  • The area outside the spa can be fished in unless the water is frozen.
  • Fishing there can produce the painting Vista or trash, depending on Secret Note #25 progress.

It is also possible to reach the spa before unlocking the Railroad by using the sword-swing glitch to leave the map and walk to the blocked trigger area behind the path. However, doing so can trap the player in the area, since attempting to exit normally causes the character to become stuck in the rocks blocking the way.
