An assortment of flower seeds. Plant them and see what grows!

Overview

Mixed Flower Seeds are a type of seed that can grow into one of several crops, with the result chosen randomly when planted. In normal use, the seed is restricted to crops from the current season, even when planted indoors in the Greenhouse or in a Garden Pot. They cannot be planted outdoors in winter. If planted indoors during winter, they may instead grow into crops from any season. On Ginger Island, Mixed Flower Seeds always produce summer crops.

Mixed Flower Seeds can be obtained from several late-game and seasonal sources. They may drop from harvesting weeds in summer with a scythe, axe, pickaxe, hoe, sword, or bomb when no Fiber or Mixed Seeds drop, with the chance increasing after reading the Raccoon Journal. They are also sold at the Desert Festival by Emily, Evelyn, and Jodi. Additional sources include Supply Crates on the Beach Farm, Mystery Boxes, and the prize machine in the Mayor’s Manor.

  • Summer weed harvesting can yield Mixed Flower Seeds instead of Fiber or Mixed Seeds.
  • At the Desert Festival, Emily, Evelyn, and Jodi each sell them in limited quantities.
  • Beach Farm Supply Crates can contain 4–5 Mixed Flower Seeds.
  • Mystery Boxes can award 10.
  • The prize machine in the Mayor’s Manor can give 15 as the third prize.

Because the crop result is random, Mixed Flower Seeds are best treated as a flexible planting option rather than a way to target a specific harvest. Their behavior changes based on location and season, so they are most predictable when planted in the open during the proper season. Indoors, they remain seasonal except during winter, when they can roll from the full set of seasonal crops. On Ginger Island, they ignore the usual season restrictions and always become summer crops, making them consistent there.

The item’s usefulness depends largely on what crops are available in the pool for the current context. That makes them a convenient way to convert surplus seeds into whatever flower-crop outcome the season allows, especially when used in bulk.
